![]() ‘Once Upon a Lifetime’: Your Child’s Portrait History is more Than Just Pictures Santa Clarita Photographic Studio doesn’t just want to take pictures of your child for you. Studio Owner Yoti Telio has joined a select group of photographers -- inspired by members of Professional Photographers of America – to create a structured program to help parents such as you recognize the seven most important times to have your children photographed. Yoti and his staff offer special programs using quality professional portraits to capture the essence of childhood at each of these seven stages, from newborn to teens, at milestones that cannot be repeated, because it would be a shame to miss any of them. Among the most meaningful gifts you can give your adult son or daughter as a birthday or wedding gift is a beautiful album of priceless childhood images, created by a gifted professional photographer who knew how to interpret and preserve the important stops along the child’s journey to adulthood, and was there to capture each one. Imagine that the baby you hold now will someday want to tell your first grandchild what it was like when he or she was growing up. Our portraits will help you illustrate the story. Whether formal family portraits or informal snapshots, photographs are mighty communicators about the people, places and things that shape our lives. When you share and cultivate the experience with a child, you’ll watch more than pictures develop! STAGE 1: The First Year Santa Clarita Photographic Studio offers a special program that documents just the First Stage of a child’s growth – the first year – at four milestones: newborn up to two weeks old; three months; six months; nine months; and 12 months. “We photograph the baby when they’re newborn, just a couple weeks old, and still really tiny and curling from the womb,” Yoti says. “We show a scale so you can measure how tiny the baby’s different body parts are compared to Mom’s and Dad’s.” By the three-month shoot, Yoti continues, “The baby’s just a beautiful bundle of joy. You get smiles, frowns, and other expressions when you interact with the child. You start seeing their personalities emerge.” At six months, “They’re actually sitting up, playing with things, interacting with others, getting verbal,” Yoti says. “By nine months, the baby is able to stand up and hold onto a chair or tricycle handlebar.” When the child reaches 12 months, Yoti says, “They’re wobblers, but most are actually standing by themselves, and some are even walking, which is absolutely magnificent.” At the end of the First Stage program, Yoti and the Santa Clarita Photographic Studio staff help celebrate the child’s first birthday. “We create a montage with one image from each of those quarterly sessions and use a beautiful visual presentation, so Mom and Dad and the entire family can vividly see their child’s growth during that incredible first year.” The sudio’s heirloom portrait programs continue through the six subsequent stages of childhood.
