Imagine that the baby you hold now will someday want to tell your first grandchild what it was like when he or she was growing up. Our portraits will help you illustrate the story.

Make it last Forever

‘Once Upon a Lifetime’: Your Child’s Portrait History is more Than Just Pictures

Santa Clarita Photographic Studio doesn’t just want to take pictures of your child for you.
We’d rather help you plan your child’s complete portrait history.

Studio Owner Yoti Telio has joined a select group of photographers -- inspired by members of Professional Photographers of America – to create a structured program to help parents such as you recognize the seven most important times to have your children photographed.

Yoti and his staff offer special programs using quality professional portraits to capture the essence of childhood at each of these seven stages, from newborn to teens, at milestones that cannot be repeated, because it would be a shame to miss any of them.

Among the most meaningful gifts you can give your adult son or daughter as a birthday or wedding gift is a beautiful album of priceless childhood images, created by a gifted professional photographer who knew how to interpret and preserve the important stops along the child’s journey to adulthood, and was there to capture each one.

Imagine that the baby you hold now will someday want to tell your first grandchild what it was like when he or she was growing up. Our portraits will help you illustrate the story.

Whether formal family portraits or informal snapshots, photographs are mighty communicators about the people, places and things that shape our lives. When you share and cultivate the experience with a child, you’ll watch more than pictures develop!

STAGE 1: The First Year

Santa Clarita Photographic Studio offers a special program that documents just the First Stage of a child’s growth – the first year – at four milestones: newborn up to two weeks old; three months; six months; nine months; and 12 months.

“We photograph the baby when they’re newborn, just a couple weeks old, and still really tiny and curling from the womb,” Yoti says. “We show a scale so you can measure how tiny the baby’s different body parts are compared to Mom’s and Dad’s.”

By the three-month shoot, Yoti continues, “The baby’s just a beautiful bundle of joy. You get smiles, frowns, and other expressions when you interact with the child. You start seeing their personalities emerge.”

At six months, “They’re actually sitting up, playing with things, interacting with others, getting verbal,” Yoti says. “By nine months, the baby is able to stand up and hold onto a chair or tricycle handlebar.”

When the child reaches 12 months, Yoti says, “They’re wobblers, but most are actually standing by themselves, and some are even walking, which is absolutely magnificent.”

At the end of the First Stage program, Yoti and the Santa Clarita Photographic Studio staff help celebrate the child’s first birthday. “We create a montage with one image from each of those quarterly sessions and use a beautiful visual presentation, so Mom and Dad and the entire family can vividly see their child’s growth during that incredible first year.”

The sudio’s heirloom portrait programs continue through the six subsequent stages of childhood.

STAGE 2: Age 2
Young toddlers achieve another major milestone at age 2. They’re now responding to reason, humor and action. They’re unpredictable, but always adorable as they begin to explore the world around them.

STAGE 3: Age 3
Still toddlers, most three-year-olds have discovered how to entertain themselves. Their world is filled with portrait opportunities that capture these joyful months of discovery and make believe, which like childhood itself come and go too soon.

STAGE 4: Age 4 to 5
Little boys and girls speak and reason better than ever, and have already developed personal interests, likes and dislikes. This is the time to portray their individuality of character and action before they lose their baby teeth, forever altering the endearing look of early childhood. Just as the six-month portrait captures the essence of babyhood, a wall portrait made at this age displays the engaging charm of childhood forever.

STAGE 5: Age 6 to 8
The snaggle-tooth phase ends as permanent teeth come in and change the contours of the child’s face. A developing mind reveals a more mature, inquiring look. Now off to school and making their way in the world... There is so much to learn! Portraits made at this age help to confirm a child's positive self-image.

STAGE 6: Age 9 to 12
As the child prepares to enter the teenage years, physical, emotional, and attitude changes occur. The little person you have known so well is about to become a more complex and less dependent young person. Peer acceptance is now important, and portraits can capture the child's sense of style and expanding horizons.

STAGE 7: Age 13-15
The early teenage years are a kind of dress rehearsal for adulthood, as childhood memories fade. The boy begins to mature in his interests, attitudes, and thinking. They’re carefree years that foreshadow the challenges of impending adulthood. The woman has begun to blossom into a young woman. She still has a lifetime of growing and learning ahead, but never again as a little girl.

At Santa Clarita Photo Studios, we're happy to suggest ways to create these priceless images. If you wish, we’ll even contact you at appropriate intervals to arrange the final details of each portrait session.

To preserve your child’s priceless photographic history forever, begin planning now. Contact the studio for  all the details.
